COVID 19 Information

A MESSAGE ABOUT COVID 19
The CARES Act provides FDA approved COVID-19 testing and related diagnostics without imposing any cost sharing (including deductibles, co-payments and coinsurance). Should a patient not be insured, a patient’s Social Security number or passport can be used to ensure a no-cost visit.

TESTS WE OFFER
We offer two types of COVID-19 tests.

The PCR Test which is the more reliable test, which gives results in 2-5 days. If you are traveling, this is the test that is usually requested. If you need results within 2 days due to airline requirements, please inform staff.

The Rapid Test The second test we provide is the Rapid COVID test. This test is about 90% reliable, and gets results in 15 to 20 minutes. We usually offer either the Kwydel Antigen Test or CareStart Antigen Test. Please confirm with staff before testing, if you are in need of a specific type of test.

Both tests should be covered by your insurance. Some insurances cover multiple tests per day, while others do not. Please contact your insurance to confirm what they will cover for you.

If you do not have insurance, you can provide your social security number, State issued ID, or passport to have the government pay for your test, as per the CARES Act.

The Antibody Test Finally, we also provide Antibody tests. This test will confirm whether someone has had COVID-19 in the past and whether they have antibodies.

MEDICAL GUIDELINES
As there is a tremendous amount of confusion regarding the COVID-19 virus we would like to clarify the following: Someone may be infected but may not exhibiting any symptoms however they are contagious and can cause others to get sick. This is why it is imperative that everyone increases their vigilance regarding hygiene.

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds- Use a hand sanitizer
Cough into your elbow

If you feel fine, still make sure to follow the CDC guidelines regarding social distancing.

For those who have tested positive with either the Rapid or the PCR test, you should isolate for a minimum of 10 days. No COVID test is required at the end of the 10 day period, as long as the patient has been symptom free for 3 days.

If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19, the CDC recommends to quarantine for 7 days, as long as you are not further exposed to another person with COVID-19. At the end of the 7 days, a negative test is required. If the patient does not want to get tested, they can quarantine for an extra 3 days, totaling 10 days of quarantine, only if they are symptom free.

Anyone who was exposed must be diligent to wear a mask at all times and continue to be socially distant.

If you have any further questions, please ask the staff at the front desk, or your local doctor.
